Hello! This is my third year as editor in Corinthian and I am quite excited! Last year was a great year, especially with the launch of this website and it was a pleasure to work alongside Guillaume, my current partner in crime. Of course, I will still miss Kayla Finn, my previous partner from two years ago, who has since graduated and sailed to white shores.

I never could've imagined myself as a writer, much less an editor of our literary magazine leading a creative writing club! I was never big in writing, always thinking I couldn't write. But I've always harbored a love of reading and literature, and...I secretly enjoyed writing poetry.

I joined Corinthian a freshman in hopes of improving my own writing skills and, then, to be more confident with my writing.

That year I sat among my senior writers, and never worked up the courage to share

a single piece, until the end of the year, where I finally let one of my poems be shared, having an editor read it. I was surprised to receive a lot of positive feedback, ultimately convincing me to submit it to that year's magazine edition. It was a turning point for me as a writer; I gained some of the new confidence I was seeking. Though, even today, I do still struggle with my perfectionistic tendencies, I've learned a lot about writing—and about my fellow writers!

You know, I think the people might be my favorite part of Corinthian. The little community of writers we build is such a wonderful and creatively inspiring place to be. I have the pleasure of getting to know students as writers, learning their different voices, and seeing them grow throughout the year. Though this year is a bit different with much of school online, including Corinthian, our club still holds strong and our members are all very promising and talented writers!

Hey everyone! This is my second year as an editor in Corinthian, and I am looking forward to this year! I first joined Corinthian two years ago to meet new people. I didn't really know that I liked writing. I just thought I might try something new. 2 years later...here I am!

Corinthian has been such an enriching experience. I met awesome people, like Riya, who since have become great friends.

To be honest, my favorite part in writing is sharing. You really get to

know someone simply by reading their work. Besides, writing gives you the opportunity to do whatever you want. Do you want to be a magician, or maybe the president? With writing, anything you think of can become a reality, at least on paper (or google doc #21st Century).

I am not the biggest reader, but writing has helped me gain interest in the books I read. It helps you understand all the work and effort it takes to write something and then throw it out there.

So all that I have left to say is that I am happy to be one of your editors, and I look forward to reading all the awesome things you come up with.

Mr. Crooke

Mr. Crooke has been faculty adviser of Corinthian for as far back as he can remember, which is a pretty long time, say about 15 years. He teachers English and writes both fiction and nonfiction. Poetry is a special love of his, as he dashes off a poem now and then, as the fiction and nonfiction muse allows.  He remains thrilled to be a part of this special club!
